Job Summary
Duties & Responsibilities
- Installs one inch and smaller water meters for new service applications.
- Performs routine changes of water meters in residential, commercial and industrial premises.
- Programs water meters and installs wiring for remote meter interrogation.
- Performs activation and de-activation of water meters.
- Performs minor plumbing repairs, as required.
- Installs and removes small summer line service meters.
- Operates and maintains service vehicle and meter installation equipment.
- Maintains meter and spare parts stock inventory of service vehicle.
- Completes daily service record, work orders and other required reports.
- Provides meter and meter remote failure diagnostics and repairs.
- Provides public relations function to address installer requirements and customer concerns.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training And Experience Requirements
- Grade 12 education.
- One year’s related experience with an emphasis on public contact and mechanical work.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid, recognized first aid certificate.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
Knowledge, Abilities And Skills
- Knowledge of safety policies and procedures.
- Knowledge of basic building construction, e.g. wiring, plumbing, and framing.
- Demonstrated ability to work effectively with mechanical equipment.
- Ability to deal tactfully and effectively with employees, team member and the public.
- Ability to organize job duties and to work unsupervised.
- Ability to organize and relay detailed information clearly and concisely both orally and in writing to meter shop staff and public.
- Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.

Weekly Hours: 38.75
Salary Range: $29.47 to $31.32 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
