Job Summary

Under the supervision of the Foreman, this position involves manual labour and providing trades with tools, material and equipment.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Assists tradesperson with tree trimming and operating the chipper truck.  
  • Provides tools, materials and equipment, as required by the tradesperson.
  • Assists with digging holes, erecting poles, setting transformers and pedestals and assembling and installing line material on underground and overhead systems.
  • Assists with stringing guy wires.
  • Assists with laying cables and stringing conductors.
  • Assists with dismantling material for salvage.
  • Assists with keeping truck stocked with equipment and materials.
  • Loads and unloads equipment and materials, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Experience and Training Requirements: 

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence, with the ability to provide a Medical Confirmation Letter issued by SGI’s Medical Review Unit, upon request. 
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
     

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:

  • Knowledge of materials, tools and equipment of the line trade.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Physical ability to perform the assigned duties outdoors in various weather conditions.

Weekly Hours: 37.33 

Salary Range: $26.52 to $31.02 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
