Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Foreman, this position involves manual labour and providing trades with tools, material and equipment.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists tradesperson with tree trimming and operating the chipper truck.
- Provides tools, materials and equipment, as required by the tradesperson.
- Assists with digging holes, erecting poles, setting transformers and pedestals and assembling and installing line material on underground and overhead systems.
- Assists with stringing guy wires.
- Assists with laying cables and stringing conductors.
- Assists with dismantling material for salvage.
- Assists with keeping truck stocked with equipment and materials.
- Loads and unloads equipment and materials, as required.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Experience and Training Requirements:
- Grade 12 education.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence, with the ability to provide a Medical Confirmation Letter issued by SGI’s Medical Review Unit, upon request.
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- Knowledge of materials, tools and equipment of the line trade.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Physical ability to perform the assigned duties outdoors in various weather conditions.
Weekly Hours: 37.33
Salary Range: $26.52 to $31.02 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
