Job Summary
This position works with program department staff to coordinate current and future project plans for the operations and use of civic office facilities and their associated amenity spaces. This position is designated for Corporate Accommodations planning and coordination activities required to support ongoing business unit operations and long-term strategic plan development. The Facility Planner – Corporate Accommodations works directly with Project Services staff and stakeholder groups to implement Corporate Accommodation plans and projects.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Manages and coordinates plans Corporate Accommodations projects for the allocation and utilization of space for civic facilities including planning, program trending definition, assessment, maintenance and operations replacement review, and consultant services and contract administration coordination. Acts as liaison with authorities having jurisdiction and other civic departments.
- Prepares and coordinates, in conjunction with user agencies and consultants, capital and operating cost estimates, program definition, design criteria, life cycle cost parameters and site-specific information of design programs for assigned projects.
- Coordinates and monitors formal agreements and contracts for compliance with the City of Saskatoon’s established standards. Reviews and recommends space standards.
- Coordinates projects by working with consultants and as a member of interdepartmental teams.
- Attends or conducts committee meetings as required by the projects assigned.
- Review’s drawings and specifications. Conducts periodic reviews of construction work in progress and coordinates the execution of the contract for assigned projects.

- Coordinates building assessments to ensure compliance with the organization’s established standards.
- Supports and promotes a safe and positive workplace culture through a variety of initiatives and activities.
- Supports and promotes the health and safety of employees in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations in addition to the City of Saskatoon’s administrative Occupational Health & Safety policies and departmental procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Degree in architecture, interior design, or engineering.
- Possession of a recognised Facility Planner, MBA or PMP designation would be an asset.
- Four to six years' diversified facility-planning experience.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Knowledge of modern building operations and maintenance, human and environmental factors, planning and project management, quality assessment and innovation and real estate.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with a broad range of individuals, agencies and representative officials.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing.
- Ability to interpret and review conventional contract drawings and specification documents, as required for assigned projects.
Weekly Hours: 36.67
Salary Range: $93,293.52 to $109,486.56 CAD per annum (2026 rates)
