Job Summary

Under the leadership & development of a Recreation Technician 8 -Summer Program Coordinator (SPC), this position coordinates the tracking and purchasing of inventory and distribution of supplies/equipment to the summer playground and youth centre programs.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs regular inventory checks of supplies and equipment throughout the summer season.
  • Maintains inventory levels throughout the summer operations.
  • Works with the Recreation Leader’s on site and Recreation Technician 13’s to effectively manage supplies and equipment within existing procurement policies and procedures.
  • Coordinates and prepares supply requests from playground and youth centre leaders.
  • Follows all Occupational Health and Safety procedures.
  • Understands and abides by the respectful workplace expectations of the City of Saskatoon and supports a positive workplace culture
  • Distributes supplies and equipment to all playground and youth centres programs, utilizing a city provided vehicle.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Successful completion of one year of post-secondary education in recreation/leisure, physical education, early childhood development, or related field, preferred.
  • One year’s work experience demonstrating strong organizational or administrative skills.
  • Ability to obtain prior to program start date a valid standard first aid and CPR – C/AED certificate.
  • Ability to work independently and within a team environment Ability to record and maintain inventory levels in a clear and organized manner.
  • Ability to work with peers and supervisors in a positive and professional manner. 
  • Demonstrated organizational skills.
  • Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC)
  • Vulnerable Sector Search (VSS) upon offer of employment, where over 18 years of age
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence and current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.

Additional Requirements

Hours Of Work:

Hours of work vary; daytime, evening and weekend work is required.

 

Weekly Hours: up to approximately 32 hours per week.

Salary Range: $19.64 to $21.66 CAD per hour (2025 rates)
