Job Summary

This position is responsible for the evaluation and review of computer-based systems and acts as project leader for new systems, new technology implementations and modifications to existing systems.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Supports the management of staff responsible for Revenue systems and data management.
  • Assists with Managing of staff including hiring, assigns work schedules, assesses staffing needs, identifies and pursues other resources if necessary and performs layoff and recall. Plans and approves staff development. Assists with performance management and, when required, disciplinary action.
  • Researches and oversees the implementation of new systems and new technology, as well as modifying and improving existing systems.
  • Ensures the development and training of staff, related to the implementation of new systems and changes to existing systems.
  • Maintains current knowledge of equipment, technology and techniques pertaining to Departmental and Corporate requirements and plans as they affect revenue systems.
  • Oversees the development, standardization and inventory of revenue systems forms.
  • Recommends changes to bylaws, policies and legislation relating to revenue systems and business activities, and implements approved changes.
  • Participates in the development, documentation and maintenance of a revenue systems methods and procedures manual.
  • Supports the ongoing development, implementation and revision of the strategic automation plan for the Division.
  • Prepares and monitors the budget for the Revenue Systems Section.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

  • Degree in computer science, commerce or related discipline.
  • Four to six years’ progressively responsible experience in the development and management of business systems, including data storage and retrieval, as well as a minimum of two years’ experience supervising and coordinating staff.
  • Thorough knowledge of financial business systems and their technical support requirements
  • Thorough knowledge of the principles of organization, management and administration.
  • Considerable knowledge of the methods, techniques and procedures used in data processing systems.
  • Knowledge of the operations and capabilities of computers and related equipment.
  • Ability to analyze and design diverse systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including the ability to prepare and present presentations of a specialized nature.
  • Demonstrated ability to direct and support staff in achieving identified results.
  • Demonstrated project management skills.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate with all levels of the organization and external contacts.

Weekly Hours: 36.67 

Salary Range: $93,293.52 to $109,486.56 CAD per annum (2026 rates)
