Job Summary
Under the supervision of the Recreation Facility Supervisor, this position provides support for social, cultural and recreational activities to ensure the enjoyment of participants and the security and cleanliness of the facility.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assists with designated recreational activities at a specific site to ensure the enjoyment of participants.
- Ensures that the Department's policies and practices are followed.
- Controls equipment usage and access to activity area.
- Maintains cleanliness and safety standards in the facility.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Grade 10 education.
- Possession of, or ability to obtain, valid recognized first aid and CPR certificates.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Knowledge of recreational activities appropriate to the activity area.
- Ability to communicate effectively orally and in writing, particularly with the participants.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Physical ability to perform the assigned duties.
- Demonstrated ice-skating skill.
Requires Security Check
Weekly Hours: up to 15 hours per week.
Salary Range: $17.04 to $18.79 CAD per hour (2025 rates)
