Job Summary
This position manages the daily operations of Printing and Mailroom Services, collaborating with staff to monitor workflow, assign additional tasks, and allocate projects daily to ensure efficient service delivery.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Assign staff to time sensitive jobs, providing clear instructions and feedback on the requirements of each unique internal task. Inform the manager when additional resources are required
- Assist with the training of new staff and provide valuable feedback and support to inexperienced staff to gain essential work skills
- Liaise between the City of Saskatoon, the managed print service provider, and users to ensure timely and effective printing, copying, and scanning services.
- Manage print job schedules, operate production digital printers and prioritize tasks to meet deadlines.
- Monitor print jobs to ensure quality and accuracy. (Color management & design layout).
- Communicate effectively with graphic designers, technicians & requestors to remedy promptly resolve issues.
- Inspect printed materials for defects and ensure they meet quality standards.
- Perform routine maintenance and level one troubleshooting and adjustments to printing equipment.
- Maintain inventory of printing supplies and recommend paper selection for unique print requests.
- Provides pricing quotes, prepare billing receipts, & tender cash for completed jobs.
- Act as the primary point of contact between the organization and the copier supplier. Foster a positive and collaborative relationship to ensure high-quality service.
- Schedule and coordinate with supplier& departments all requested copier movements (installs & removals).
- Oversee all details of the copier movement & maintain accurate fleet listing for Model /Serial number/Location/Billing details.
- Track and analyze the performance of the copier equipment, including usage patterns, downtime, and service response times. Provide regular reports to the manager.
- Support the departments and the supplier with ongoing changes to implement process improvements to enhance the efficiency and effectiveness of the managed print services.
- Performs the duties of the Printing and Mailroom Clerks and other related duties, as required.
- Follow all safety protocols and work to maintain a safe and organized workspace.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Graduation with Diploma.
- Four years' related experience in printing.
- Proven experience & training as a copier/mail equipment technician or in a similar role.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Strong knowledge of copier and printer technology.
- Organizational skills with ability to provide accuracy and timelines.
- Considerable knowledge of high-speed printing and mailing practices, procedures and equipment.
- Demonstrated ability to operate production printers and other mail equipment- Folder inserter/trimmers/booklet maker/laminator/postage meter.
- Ability to plan, direct and supervise the work of assigned staff.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
- Ability to prioritize assignments to meet assigned deadlines.
- Skill in the use of a computer using the Microsoft Office Suite and ability to handle tasks such as mail merges/ envelope printing/ booklet printing/binding.
- Strong Mechanical aptitude with capability to set up, operate and adjust equipment to meet specific requirement.
- Ability to work independently in a fast-paced environment.
- Excellent problem-solving and analytical skills.
- Ability to work independently and manage time effectively.
- Supervisory experience would be beneficial.
- Ability to lift to 50 lbs. in weight & oversee copier equipment movement.

Additional Requirements
Travel to other City of Saskatoon office locations may be required.
Weekly Hours: 36.67
Salary Range: $65,191.44 to $71,873.04 CAD per annum (2025 rates)
