Job Summary
Under supervision of the Supervisor, this position performs a variety of general labour tasks related to the care and maintenance of City parks, cemeteries and green spaces.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of general labour tasks including:
- Turf Maintenance: Seeding, watering, mowing, line trimming and fertilizing.
- Horticultural work: Weeding, spraying, pruning, planting, and tiling.
- General Park maintenance: Litter and debris pick-up, performing minor repairs/maintenance and using/maintaining a variety of handheld tools.
- Assists with pest management and pruning operations, as required.
- Supports and promotes a safe and positive workplace culture through a variety of initiatives and activities.
- Supports and promotes the health and safety of employees in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations in addition to the City of Saskatoon’s Administrative Occupational Health & Safety policies and departmental procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Grade 10 education.
- Three months' related horticultural/agricultural experience.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan full Class 5 Driver’s Licence is required, or at minimum, a Class 5 (Novice 2).
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Knowledge and ability to use a variety of hand tools.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and other civic employees.
- Ability to work in a computerized/digital environment, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, SAP and mobile devices.
- Physical ability to perform the assigned duties under a variety of weather conditions.

Additional Requirements
Shift work and weekend work may be involved.
Weekly Hours: 40
Salary Range: $20.13 to $22.20 CAD per hour (2026 rates)
