Job Summary
This position is part of a dynamic team who actively connects with clients who have experienced an overdose. This team will help individuals access programs and services to reduce the risk of overdose.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Connects with and supports individuals, in partnership with a mental health and addictions counsellor, who have experienced an overdose start on a path of recovery and treatment planning. This includes providing short-term counselling and connecting individuals with other agencies for longer-term support.
- Provides individuals with harm reduction education and supplies.
- Preforms risk assessments and assist with safety plans.
- Collaborates with community partners to assist in the goals of the program.
- Provides emergency paramedic care when required.
- Complete required training.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
- Grade 12 or equivalent.
- Listed as a practicing unrestricted Primary Care Paramedic (2011 National Occupational Competency Profile) on the current members roster of the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics. Registered with the Saskatchewan College of Paramedics at the Advance Care Paramedic Level or Community Care Paramedic Level would be an asset.
- One year experience with addictions and harm reduction.
- Current International Trauma Life Support (ITLS) BASIC certificate.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s Licence or equivalent.
- Current driver’s abstract from the driver’s licensing authority or home province demonstrating a safe driving record. Successful applicants from another province will be required to produce a valid Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence within 90 days of commencing employment with the department.
- Demonstrated ability to establish and maintain positive and productive working relationships with other employees, civic officials, representatives of other agencies and the public.
- Ability to work independently and as a member of a team.

- 37.5 Hours of work per week, Evening and weekend may be required.

Salary Range: $72,543.60 to $109,373.52 CAD per annum (2023 rates)
