This position is a IBEW 319 position and will be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Should it not be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, external candidates will be considered.

Job Summary

Under supervision of Management, this position performs field and office work related to metering operations and accredited meter services.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Performs field and office work, including installation, removal and reading of single phase and network meters, meter disconnects and reconnects, inspection and recording of installations and takes physical measurements to ensure conformance to standards.
  • Performs field and office work, including the packaging, labelling, cleaning, washing, scrapping of meters and equipment, and other duties related to accredited meter services.
  • Assists with the field and office work, including the installation and maintenance of the advanced metering infrastructure system, as required.
  • Assists with the intake, coordination and scheduling of work related to metering operations, as required
  • Maintains accurate records and documents.
  • Performs related assignments from management.
  • Prepares various reports, as required.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training, and Experience Requirements

  • Grade 12 education.
  • One year experience as a Meter Installer. 
  • Equivalencies and related experience will be considered.
  • Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver's Licence.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Ability to work with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal courteously and tactfully with the public and to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Ability to communicate effectively both verbally and in writing.
  • Physical ability, including complete colour vision, to perform the assigned duties in indoor and outdoor locations and under various weather conditions.
  • Skill in the use of a computer, Microsoft Office suite, database and other related software.

Requires Security Check

Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) upon offer of employment.

Additional Requirements

Shift work is involved.

Weekly Hours: 37.33 

Salary Range: $32.64 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
