This position is a CUPE 59 position and will be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement. Should it not be filled in accordance with the Collective Bargaining Agreement, external candidates will be considered.
Job Summary
Under supervision of the Supervisor, this position performs a variety of general labour tasks related to the care and maintenance of City Ski-Trails.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Performs a variety of general labour tasks.
- Assists with cross country ski trail operations
- Supports and promotes a safe and positive workplace culture through a variety of initiatives and activities.
- Supports and promotes the health and safety of employees in accordance with the Occupational Health & Safety Act & Regulations in addition to the City of Saskatoon’s Administrative Occupational Health & Safety Policies and departmental procedures.
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience Requirements:
- Grade 10 education.
- Three months' current experience in parks winter operations.
- Possession of a valid Saskatchewan full Class 5 Driver’s Licence is required.
- Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills:
- Ability to operate various equipment including snowmobiles and UTV.
- Knowledge and ability to use a variety of hand tools.
- Ability to work with minimal supervision.
- Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with the public and other civic employees.
- Ability to work in a computerized/digital environment, including the use of Microsoft Outlook, SAP and mobile devices.
- Physical ability to perform the assigned duties under a variety of weather conditions.
Additional Requirements
This is a Casual Call-In position, and hours of work are variable.
Weekly Hours: Determined by department
Salary Range: $20.13 to $22.20 CAD per hour (2026 rates)
