Job Summary
This position consults with divisions in the Corporation to identify and implement digital solutions that address business challenges, enhance service delivery, and supports organizational goals. It plays a key role in establishing project priorities and recommending integrated strategies for the implementation of enterprise web services, collaboration platforms, document and records management systems, and information governance practices.
Duties & Responsibilities
- Consults with divisions to determine corporate information needs and system requirements pertaining to internal and external digital platforms, collaboration tools, and initiatives.
- Plays a key role in managing stakeholder relationships, advising other divisions on available modern web services, digital collaboration platforms, standards for usability and accessibility.
- Provides advice and consultation to other divisions regarding gathering business and user experience requirements and developing digital transformation roadmaps, prioritizing initiatives, and maintaining corporate short, medium and long-range strategies to address web-services needs.
- Recruits, mentors, supervises, trains, and evaluates assigned staff, fostering a culture of innovation and continuous improvement.
- Conducts feasibility studies, evaluates emerging technologies; identifies system requirements for implementation; and develops comprehensive statements of requirements.
- Assesses the potential of information systems projects and provides consultation regarding the development of or integration of systems.
- Supports the lifecycle of a project including business case development, initiates, plans and controls projects, and prepare forecasts of short- and long-term projects.
- Plans and manages assessments to identify productivity and service delivery improvements using digital tools, automation, and data-driven decision-making.
- Participates in project priorities by recommending resources allocations,and overseeing the implementation of projects using project management practices.
- Contributes to the technical strategy and roadmap for the public websites, including Saskatoon.ca, Transit.Saskatoon.ca and Saskatoonland.ca, ensuring accessibility compliance, performance, and user-centric design.
- Leads the implementation and governance of internal collaboration and records-management tools. Including Microsoft Teams, SharePoint Online, and Power Platform.
- Monitors and evaluates emerging technologies to align with departmental and corporate strategic goals.
- Supports the planning and modernization of corporate information systems, including procedures and the use of new methods.
- Supports enterprise data integration and governance practices that enhance data quality, accessibility, and use across the organization.
- Promotes and leads the implementation of robust information governance practices to ensure compliance, privacy, security, and lifecycle management
- Performs other related duties as assigned.
Qualifications
Education, Training and Experience Requirements
- Degree in computer science, commerce, business administration or related discipline.
- Seven to nine years’ experience in information services, including three years' experience as a Systems Analyst.
Knowledge, Abilities and Skills
- Thorough knowledge of enterprise web services and collaboration tools, including knowledge of current innovations.
- Thorough knowledge of the principles of organization, management and administration.
- Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and to work independently.
- Ability to analyze diverse systems.
- Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including the ability to prepare and present presentations of a specialized nature.
- Demonstrated project management skills.
- Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate with all levels of the organization and external contacts.
Requires Security Check
Weekly Hours: 36.67
Salary Range: $100,002.72 to $114,966.48 CAD per annum (2023 rates)
