Job Summary

The Information Management Coordinator – Data Modelling and Analytics is responsible for leading the design, development, and governance of corporate data models, and analytics frameworks. This role consults with divisions across the Corporation to identify business needs, recommend data-driven solutions, and ensure integration of data systems and analytics capabilities that support strategic decision-making.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Works with divisions to assess corporate data and analytics needs and system requirements.
  • Advises on available IT services and data solutions to support business objectives.
  • Leads the design and documentation of data models, including data definitions, business rules, relationships, and flows.
  • Establishes and maintains master data management standards and frameworks.
  • Collaborates with City Clerks to operationalize governance for the Corporate Reporting Process, including intake, prioritization, progress tracking and resource allocation.
  • Collaborates with Data Architect and Data Engineers on data ingestions, ETL and MS Fabric processes.
  • Supports advanced analytics initiatives, including predictive modeling and business intelligence dashboards.
  • Involved in executing the full lifecycle of data-related projects, from business case development through planning, execution, and monitoring.
  • Prepares short- and long-term forecasts for data and analytics initiatives.
  • Recruits, directs, supervises, trains and evaluates performance of assigned staff.
  • Fosters a culture of continuous improvement and innovation in data practices.
  • Maintains current knowledge of emerging technologies and trends in data modeling, and analytics.
  • Leads the development of policies and procedures specific to data modelling and analytics for the organization by way of systems that will improve overall operation and effectiveness. Works in conjunction with the Data Governance team in City Clerks to ensure that business practices and processes are in line with Corporate Data program strategies and goals.
  • Participates in the planning, development and monitoring of relevant Departmental Capital and Operating budgets.
  • Performs other duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training and Experience Requirements

  • Degree in computer science, commerce, business administration or related discipline.
  • Seven to nine years of experience in information services, data modeling, and analytics, including a minimum of three (3) years in a systems analyst or data architecture role.
  • Experience in master data management, and analytics concepts and solutions
  • Experience in SQL, ETL tools, and data visualization platforms (e.g., Power BI, Tableau).
  • Experience managing projects and directing resources.
  • Experience preparing and conducting presentations.
  • Experience leading teams and managing complex projects independently.

 

Knowledge, Abilities and Skills

  • Demonstrated understanding of data modeling techniques (conceptual, logical, physical).
  • Demonstrated knowledge of cloud data platforms (Azure, AWS, or GCP) and modern data architectures including Microsoft Fabric
  • Demonstrated knowledge of organizational management principles and project management methodologies.
  • Strong communication skills both orally and in writing for technical and non-technical audiences.

Acceptable current Criminal Record Check (CRC) upon offer of employment.

Weekly Hours: 36.67 

Salary Range: $93,293.52 to $109,486.56 CAD per annum (2026 rates). An annual supplement of $13,790.88 on top of the regular annual rate will also apply.
