Job Summary

Under supervision of a Section Manager within the Sustainability Division, this position assists with development and implementation of corporate studies and capital projects.

Duties & Responsibilities

  1. Analyzing utility bills and billing data to better manage utility costs for civic facilities and understand energy use in civic facilities. 
  2. Researching best practices and how to improve civic processes in energy management and water conservation.
  3. Touring City facilities to document equipment for the purpose of preparing for energy efficiency retrofit projects.
  4. Conducts research and communicates with suppliers, contractors, other civic departments and regulatory agencies to determine the cost and application of energy efficiency and water conservation diversion technologies.
  5. Data entry, analysis, reporting and developing and updating spreadsheets and utility management software systems.
  6. Assisting with the delivery of capital projects.
  7. Performs other related duties as required. 

Qualifications

  • Completion of three years’ university with current enrolment in the Engineering Professional Internship Program (EPIP), and the intention to return to school full-time following the internship.
  • Experience in the operation and control of electrical and mechanical systems or equipment would be considered an asset. 
  • Possession of a valid Class 5 Saskatchewan Driver’s Licence.
  • Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic staff, civic officials, representatives of other agencies and the public.
  • Ability to collect and interpret data and make recommendations on findings. 
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills. 
  • Skill in the use of a computer using the Microsoft Office suite.

Additional Requirements

Weekly Hours: 36.67 

Salary Range: $51,810.72 to $60,548.40 CAD per annum (2023 rates)
