Job Summary

This position supports the Engineering and Planning Section in overseeing water, sewer, and drainage design projects.
 

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Coordinates water and sewer infrastructure projects review, planning, and design.
  • Coordinates review, planning, and design of storm water detention ponds, including all associated infrastructure.
  • Assists the Planning and Design Engineer in preparing designs for storm water flood control projects, construction cost estimates, requests for qualifications and proposals, and bid evaluations.
  • Assists with project management during the planning and design of storm water flood control projects.
  • Communicates with other civic departments and regulatory agencies to ensure compliance with civic and provincial regulations.
  • Assists with preparing written and oral reports in response to inquiries.
  • Assists with preparing capital budget estimates.
  • Assists with the review of development applications and design drawings as required.
  • Research industry standards for infill and new developments.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

⦁    Degree in civil engineering, environmental engineering, or related discipline of engineering. 

⦁    Registered as an Engineer-in-Training with the Association of Professional Engineers and Geoscientists of Saskatchewan (APEGS).
⦁    Experience in infrastructure project management would be considered an asset.
⦁    Possession of a valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s License.
⦁    Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
⦁    Demonstrated ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing.
⦁    Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships with civic staff, officials, representatives of other agencies, and the public.
⦁    Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills.
 

Weekly Hours: 36.67 

Salary Range: $80,150.88 to $93,935.04 CAD per annum (2023 rates)
