Job Summary

Under supervision of the Roadways Supervisor this position performs a variety of concrete labouring duties.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Pour, preparation and stripping of various types of sidewalks, driveways, wheelchair ramps and curbing.
  • Assists concrete finishers with forming and finishing.
  • Assists break-out crews with removal and preparations of various types of sidewalks.
  • Assists in the installation and repairs of guardrail.
  • Completes all work tracking and other associated forms accurately.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training And Experience Requirements

  • Grade 10 education.
  • Six months related concrete labour experience.
  • Possession of valid Saskatchewan Class 5 Driver’s licence.
  • Current driver’s abstract from SGI demonstrating a safe driving record.
  • Possession of, or ability to obtain, a valid first aid certificate.

Knowledge, Abilities And Skills

  • Knowledge of construction practices and standards pertaining to sidewalk replacement.
  • Knowledge of city safety practices.
  • Ability to perform duties with minimal supervision.
  • Ability to deal tactfully and courteously with the public and others.
  • Ability to understand and execute oral and written instructions.

Additional Requirements

Weekend work may be involved.

Weekly Hours: 40 

Salary Range: $26.52 CAD per hour (2023 rates)
