Job Summary

Under supervision of the Customer Service Manager, this position performs clerical duties for the Department.

Duties & Responsibilities

  • Screens, and directs to the appropriate party, a variety of in-person and telephone enquiries for the department.
  • Types, edits and creates a variety of letters, applications, permits, estimates, reports etc., from electronic and written sources.
  • Collects data regarding utilities and enters it into software applications, including Metrix, Access and Excel. Compares base line utility measurements with actual readings supplied by utility provider.
  • Enters and monitors energy and utility measurements as well as rate-change data.  Monitors and revises database to ensure the accuracy and integrity of the data.  
  • Maintains the computerized memo system.
  • Maintains the Department filing system.
  • Distributes and picks up mail.
  • Maintains the Department library.
  • Assists with coordinating and maintaining office records, including file review and storage preparation.
  • Performs other related duties as assigned.

Qualifications

Education, Training & Experience Requirements:

  • Grade 12 education.
  • Graduation from a business college.
  • Typing speed of 45 w.p.m.
  • Two years' diversified and related office experience.

 

Knowledge, Abilities & Skills:

  • Knowledge of business English and arithmetic.
  • Knowledge of modern office practices and procedures.
  • Demonstrated ability to perform advanced word-processing functions such as graphics, macros, merge and tables.
  • Ability to establish and maintain effective working relationships.
  • Demonstrated customer service skills.
  • Skill in the operation of modern office equipment, including a computer with graphics and Microsoft Office applications.

Weekly Hours: 36.67 

Salary Range: $55,739.28 to $61,452.00 CAD per annum (2026 rates)
