The Business Transformation department is looking for a Business Relationship Management Office Lead.

The Work You Will Be Involved In:

The BRMO Manager is responsible for the Business Relationship Management Office which performs a strategic planning and liaison function between all corporate business units and technology. The purpose of this office is for strategy and relationship development, identification of new innovation opportunities and solutions to address business and citizen needs, the establishment of strategic business technology strategies and set priority for the implementation work.

 

  • Oversees and establishes the methodologies of the BRMO for gathering business requirements and preparing departmental and divisional business technology strategy plans.
  • Identification and analysis of business needs, project requirements, and their priority and aligning those plans with the corporate Enterprise Architecture and technology service capabilities.
  • Coordinates the development of business and information technology project business cases, manages their intake and prioritization into the Business & Technology Portfolio process, and assists ELT & technology in its prioritization of the work in the portfolio.
  • Ensures the ongoing health of the relationships between technology sections and the business units to foster a two-way understanding of the business needs and technology capabilities.
  • Articulates the business strategies and priorities to the technology sections to ensure that technology services, business planning, and governance can continue to develop and align with the needs of the Corporation.
  • Oversees the analysis of key technology performance indicators that measure the Corporations satisfaction with technology capabilities and provides the results of the analysis as inputs into technology strategic planning. 
  • Maintains strong working relationships with supporting technology service areas and a deep understanding of those services and their processes.
  • Maintains current knowledge of technological advancements and defined technology services as they pertain to departmental and corporate capabilities and looks for opportunities to standardize and consolidate services.
  • Enables the leveraging of technology to improve the delivery of services to our citizens and improve the efficiencies in corporate operations. 
  • May hold a portfolio of dept or divisions, maintaining a deep understanding of the departments or divisions he or she is supporting through BRM Practice.
  • Performs other related duties.

  • Innovation and Continuous Improvement: Identifies opportunities to leverage emerging technologies and innovative solutions to enhance service delivery and operational efficiency. Encourages a culture of continuous improvement, standardization, and optimization across business and technology services.
  • Effective Communication: Clearly articulates complex business and technology concepts to diverse audiences, including executives, stakeholders, and technical teams. Prepares and delivers impactful presentations, reports, and recommendations. Actively listens and adapts messaging to ensure understanding and engagement.
  • Performance Measurement and Accountability: Establishes and monitors key performance indicators to assess the effectiveness and satisfaction of technology services. Holds self and others accountable for achieving results, meeting deadlines, and maintaining high standards of quality and integrity.
  • Change Leadership: Leads and supports organizational change by promoting adaptability and guiding teams through evolving priorities, technologies, and processes. Encourages acceptance of change while minimizing disruption and maintaining focus on strategic objectives.

What We Are Looking For:

  • University degree in computational science, commerce, business administration, or related discipline. 
  • At least ten years of experience in information services, including five years of experience in Business Relationship Management.
  • Possession of a Business Relationship Management Certification such as Business Relationship Management Professional (BRMP) or Certified Business Relationship Management (CBRM).
  • Thorough knowledge of Business Relationship Management theory including the application of that knowledge in a business setting. Thorough knowledge of the principles of organization, management, and administration.
  • Demonstrated knowledge of industry-standard frameworks such as TOGAF, Zachman, COBIT, and/or ITIL.
  • Ability to exercise a high degree of initiative and to work independently
  • Ability to analyse diverse systems.
  • Ability to communicate effectively, orally and in writing, including preparing and presenting presentations of a specialized nature.
  • Demonstrated effective interpersonal skills, including the ability to relate and maintain relationships with all levels of the organization and external contacts. 
  • Demonstrated ability to develop successful short- and long-term strategic plans, manage a holistic view of strategic planning and direct resources.
  • Demonstrated ability to work effectively within budget guidelines and meet required deadlines.
  • Demonstrated ability to deal with issues management in a political environment.
  • Ability to maintain confidentiality while handling sensitive information.
